Where is this term’s report card?

DCC Now · September 26, 2026 · By Sarbjot Singh Locham

The election is approaching. What is Council’s record?

Delta’s municipal election is October 17, 2026. Residents can see campaign promises. Before they vote, they should also be able to examine what the current Mayor and Council did during this term.

DCC Now is asking for a written account on six specific issues, supported by dates, decisions, correspondence, and links to public records. These questions concern the City of Delta’s actions. Where a health-care decision belongs to the Province or another organization, we are asking what the City requested, offered, approved, or was told.

Six questions for Mayor and Council

  1. Beedie Long-Term Care Centre: What did the City do concerning this project, including any resolutions, letters, land decisions, zoning changes, or permits? On what dates?
  2. North Delta urgent or primary care centre: What steps did the City take, and what responses did it receive? On what dates?
  3. 2026 City primary-care assessment: What actions did Council take after receiving the assessment?
  4. Council Code of Conduct: What decisions did Council make about adopting or reviewing a Code of Conduct bylaw? When were those decisions made, and what reasons were recorded?
  5. Responses to residents: Does the City have a written standard for acknowledging and answering residents’ correspondence? If so, where can residents find it?
  6. Delegation requests: How many requests to appear before Council were refused during this term? What reason was given for each refusal, and who made the decision?

Please include relevant Council motions or decisions, correspondence, dates, and links to available records with each answer.
