Delta Council Pay: Then vs Now

How each current council member’s City of Delta pay has grown since their first full year in office, compared with 2025.

Members elected 2018 (2019 → 2025, 6 years)

Name Role 2019 Remun.+Car 2025 Remun.+Car $ Increase % Change
George Harvie Mayor $168,797 $206,718 +$37,921 +22.5%
Dylan Kruger Councillor $75,206 $111,167 +$35,961 +47.8%
Alicia Guichon Councillor $74,911 $92,367 +$17,456 +23.3%

Kruger has been paid at a higher base rate than the other councillors starting in 2023. The public schedules do not state why — anyone wanting the exact reason would need to file a request with the City of Delta Corporate Office.

Members elected 2022 (2023 → 2025, 2 years)

Name Role 2023 Remun.+Car 2025 Remun.+Car $ Increase % Change
Rod Binder Councillor $88,590 $92,367 +$3,777 +4.3%
Daniel Boisvert Councillor $88,590 $92,367 +$3,777 +4.3%
Jessie Dosanjh Councillor $88,590 $92,367 +$3,777 +4.3%
Jennifer Johal Councillor $88,590 $92,367 +$3,777 +4.3%

All four sit on the same councillor pay scale, so their base pay increase is identical.

Total compensation dollar increase (includes benefits & expenses)

Name Baseline Year Baseline Delta Total 2025 Delta Total $ Increase
George Harvie 2019 $179,971 $218,653 +$38,682
Dylan Kruger 2019 $87,461 $128,292 +$40,831
Alicia Guichon 2019 $83,964 $101,404 +$17,440
Jennifer Johal 2023 $93,527 $108,982 +$15,455
Daniel Boisvert 2023 $94,652 $108,642 +$13,990
Rod Binder 2023 $94,081 $105,455 +$11,374
Jessie Dosanjh 2023 $89,936 $100,770 +$10,834
Benchmark: Average BC earnings rose from roughly $54,000/year (2019) to roughly $68,000/year (2025) — about +$14,000 over the same 6-year span (Statistics Canada). Harvie’s and Kruger’s base-pay dollar increases are more than double that benchmark; Guichon’s is closer to it.

Metro Vancouver: who actually holds the seat

Correction/update: Harvie is no longer a Metro Vancouver director or chair. On May 6, 2024, Delta Council voted to remove him from the MV board effective July 1, 2024. Councillors Rod Binder and Dylan Kruger have been Delta’s two MV directors from that date forward.

Period Delta’s Metro Vancouver Directors
2023 – June 2024 George Harvie (also MV Board Chair) + Dylan Kruger
July 2024 – present Rod Binder + Dylan Kruger (Harvie removed)
Name Delta Total (2025) Metro Vancouver Total (2024) MV Status Today
George Harvie $218,653 $92,705 (Jan–Jun 2024 only) No longer an MV director
Dylan Kruger $128,292 $42,177 (full year) Current MV director
Rod Binder $105,455 Not yet available in documents reviewed Current MV director (since Jul 2024)

Binder’s Metro Vancouver remuneration and expenses for the second half of 2024 and for 2025 are not reflected above — they would come from Metro Vancouver’s later disclosures, which are not yet in hand.
