BC 2026 Provincial Election Preliminary Results

BC Conservatives win historic majority in Saturday’s provincial election

Preliminary results from Saturday’s British Columbia provincial election show the Conservative Party of BC leading or elected in 64 seats of the 93-seat legislature. The BC NDP holds 27 seats and the BC Green Party holds 2. A majority requires 47 seats.

This is the first majority government formed by a party running under the Conservative name in British Columbia since 1928. Interim leader Lorne Doerkson is set to become the next premier. NDP Leader David Eby resigned as party leader after the result; he retained his own seat.

The result ends the NDP’s time in government. These figures are preliminary. Final counting of mail-in and absentee ballots is still underway. Official numbers are published by Elections BC.
