Riverview Bridge: Weekend Lane Closures October 30–November 2

Published October 30, 2026 · Surrey–New Westminster

Drivers traveling between Surrey and New Westminster should plan ahead this weekend. The stal̕əw̓asəm (Riverview) Bridge, which replaced the Pattullo Bridge, is scheduled for a full northbound closure and reduced southbound capacity while crews complete paving work on the south approach.

Scheduled closure period
Friday, October 30, 2026, at 9 p.m.
Until Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5 a.m.
All times are local.

Which lanes will be closed?

  • Northbound toward New Westminster: Both lanes will be closed.
  • Southbound toward Surrey: One lane will be closed, leaving one lane open.

Alternative routes

Northbound drivers are advised to use the Alex Fraser Bridge or Port Mann Bridge. Allow extra travel time and expect heavier traffic on alternative crossings.

Walking and cycling

A separate closure is in effect on Riverview Bridge’s east-side multi-use path for finishing work. Pedestrians and cyclists can use the west-side path in both directions.

Check before leaving: The work is weather dependent, and the schedule may change. Check DriveBC and official project updates before traveling. Follow posted signs and instructions from traffic control personnel.
