Vote for candidates — not just a slate. Evaluate every candidate individually.

You Are Not Required to Vote for an Entire Slate

Do not vote for a name just because it appears under a slate banner. Evaluate every candidate individually and vote for the people you genuinely trust to serve the community.

Political slates may campaign as teams, but voters do not have to support every candidate on one slate.

You may select candidates individually—from different slates, independent candidates, or any combination—based on who you believe will represent Delta most effectively.

Consider each candidate’s:

  • Previous performance, if they have held public office
  • Responsiveness and accessibility to residents
  • Qualifications, experience and judgment
  • Position on issues important to the community
  • Willingness to question decisions and act independently
  • Record of transparency and accountability

If you believe an incumbent has performed well, you may vote for that person. If you believe someone has not represented the community effectively, you may support another candidate and give that person an opportunity to provide better leadership during the next four years.

The same principle applies separately to school-trustee candidates. Examine their experience, priorities and record before deciding who should oversee public education in Delta.
