The Community Charter required Delta Council to reconsider its decision not to establish a Code of Conduct before January 1, 2026. The City has not identified a meeting, agenda item, resolution or minutes showing that reconsideration occurred. It provided its Code of Ethics Policy instead. The Ministry confirmed the requirement in writing. Mayor Harvie has said he has no knowledge of a Council request for reconsideration.
The City of Delta paid $213,507.88 plus GST to two law firms in 2024 and 2025 on the Grewal litigation. There was no insurance claim. Any settlement amount was not disclosed. 2026 figures are not yet available.
