For almost two years, a Delta resident emailed, texted, and phoned his councilor about an ongoing property issue with city staff and got no response. Now that same councilor is asking for votes to be mayor. Why should residents believe he'll listen as mayor when he didn't as councilor?

The emails were sent to the councilor's official email address and to the mayor/council email address, with the full Delta Council copied. None produced a reply. The resident has retained the full email history. Documents are available on request and will not be published publicly.

That councilor is the only sitting councilor among the three candidates for mayor in the October 17, 2026 election.

The resident’s account and records

The resident reports repeated attempts over nearly two years—emails to official and mayor/council addresses (full Council copied), plus texts and phone calls—seeking help resolving a property issue involving City of Delta staff. According to the resident, neither the councilor nor other three member of Council replied.

He asks the question above because the record, as he describes it, shows no response while the councilor held office. Supporting documents are available on request and will not be published publicly.

What this post does and does not claim

This post records the resident’s account and the question he poses. Supporting emails are available on request and will not be published publicly.

It does not name the councilor in the body of the post. The public record shows three candidates for mayor: Melissa Granum (Delta First), George V. Harvie (Achieving for Delta), and Dylan Kruger (One Delta). Kruger is the only sitting councilor among them.

Questions on the record

  1. Does the councilor confirm or dispute the resident’s account of nearly two years of unanswered emails (to official and mayor/council addresses, with full Council copied), texts, and phone calls seeking resolution of a property issue with City staff?
  2. Does the City of Delta have a written standard or timeframe for councilors to acknowledge or answer residents’ correspondence sent to official addresses? If so, where is it published?
  3. If elected mayor, what written standard and timeframe will the candidate apply to resident correspondence?

Right of response

Any written reply from the councilor, any mayoral candidate, or the City of Delta sent to info@dccnow.com will be published in full and unedited. Supporting documents from the resident are available on request and will not be published publicly.

DCC Now does not endorse candidates or slates. Missing answers will be noted as missing answers.
